Its Ok, We can Stop Now

I just started a small business with a concept to be able to do a little bit of cleaning which would allow me to work a little more at my own pace without long-term commitments due to autoimmune issues. I am familiar with the SBA and have had a small business before, but I’ve never had or run a business with employees and was reaching out to get some counseling to be able to do this in proper fashion.

I have not been pleased with either the Democrats or the Republicans constantly practicing the strangest form of prejudice, judging an entire group of people for things that we disagree with.

Rather than attacking groups or individuals, each side needs to learn to address issues.

The goal isn’t to prove that you are the hero and the other guy is the bad guy.

The goal is to efficiently run a government which will take teamwork, as any sports team knows.

(Maybe that’s what you guys need – a good football coach….)

I was not pleased at all to find on the official United States government SBA website a large pop up, very one-sided from the Republican/ Trump side criticizing the Democrats for the shutdown.

This is completely unprofessional.

That website represents Democrats and Republicans and should not be used as a pro-republican platform. This coming from a once long time Republican who is concerned with the disconnects in our country. ( I have decided that instead of being a Democrat or a Republican, for now I choose to be an American….)

I was also a bit frustrated to find that it will be impossible immediately to receive the help that I need too effectively start my business because very simply the SBA is shut down.

The website referred to various private organizations but after 5 or 10 minutes searching for some reason my prime Arvada zip code came up repeatedly with no counselors in the area. I will reach out to one of the colleges instead.🤷‍♀️

But having experienced the SBA’s help with a business plan prior, I was dismayed that I cannot easily move forward getting the business advice needed in helping provide meaningful work for myself and others.

There are many disconnects in our society today.

Government is made up of people. People who make choices on how we use our time, energy, resources and money. Some of our choices are within our control and others due to environmental factors, illness and many other things may be out of our control. Wisdom is knowing the difference.

This country is made up of people, our largest natural resource, sadly due to the cultural structure of the past century or so, it is our largest untapped natural resource in my opinion.

We are people who are all in need of kindness, mercy and Grace because we all screw up and we’re never meant to be Lone Rangers but rather to function in community and in relationship with God and each other.

It would be hugely beneficial for the two sides to pull in a third party if needed and professional mediation if needed.

If we need it for marriages, and if we need it to bring peace in legal things, it would do well to require every government official to submit to classes from a third neutral party on how to work together and resolve differences without judging an entire group of people, let alone blocking sustainable progress that is much needed in our nation right now.


With all due respect to the leaders in this country, this is ridiculous. A very simple solution is everybody in the government agree to not eat out or drink Starbucks or spend any extra money, but live on chicken rice and beans or some other similar simple diet until we learn how to come into respectful agreement even if we disagree.

It is true that the issues can be very important in a matter of life and death. So if we consider ourselves each individual the highest Authority, we should not be surprised when others think the same. It would be amazingly helpful if we could come together under the one Authority who does actually get it all right and have ears to hear and eyes to see what God thinks.

One nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

Remove the one nation and we are not indivisible, remove under God and we are not indivisible, remove that first part and there will not be liberty and justice for all. 

I am speaking soundly to those who consider themselves under God as well as to those who do not believe in him. It is not those who claim God that are under God, but those who obey his laws, of Justice truth grace and mercy, being willing to admit the faults of the person in the mirror as fervently as we attack The Faults of those on the other side. Truth. Justice. Mercy. Grace. None of which is possible without the cross.

We have need for truth and justice, mercy and Grace. And the truth is the Democrats are not all right, neither are they all wrong. And the Republicans are not all right, and neither are they all wrong.

If we want the other side to change, we will have to lead by example.

I am not upset, not angry, just hoping everybody understands: this is not sustainable.

It is one thread among many threads within our country, not just in the government but within all of our country including the homeless, there are many threads that we have chosen over the past hundred to 150 years. W pe have created an economic and governmental, as well as Civic environment that is not sustainable.
